1. A Second Class Master’s Degree in Geology or Applied Geology of a recognized University / Institute or equivalent qualifications.
2. Two years practical experience in prospecting various minerals.

Desirable:- Experience in Mining and Drilling.

Essential:-

1.  A Degree in Mining Engineering from a recognized University / Institution or a Diploma in Mining Engineering from Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad or equivalent.
2. A Second Class Master’s Degree in Geology or Applied Geology or equivalent from a recognized University/ Institute, plus.
3. Two years field experience, relaxable at the discretion of the Public Service Commission, W. B. for otherwise well-qualified candidates.

Desirable:-

1. Second Class Mines Manager’s Certificate.
2. Practical knowledge of Mine Surveying.
